Wow - it's been a while since I last posted something on here. We've been busy! We left July 1st, bright and early, to start our drive to Texas to visit my sisters and their families. We drove 13 hours the first day and 4-5 hours the next day. We stayed for a week and had so much fun. We went to the rodeo, celebrated Jenna's birthday, watched fireworks, visited San Antonio, shopped, had some "sister time", ate lots of good food (nothing like Texas BBQ and good mexican food.....and our new favorite - "love nests", which are flavored shaved ice with ice cream - YUMMY!), just hung out, and of course took TONS of photos. Keep checking back for the next several days. My plan is to add a few photos each day highlighting our trip.
We left Monday morning from Brenda's to begin our trip home. We stopped about 45 minutes into our trip at a Czech bakery to get some yummy breakfast. While we were there, Jenna started complaining about not feeling well. We discussed turning around and going back, but decided that she would be okay and kept going. YIKES! She definitely was not okay and spent the entire two day trip home (two VERY LONG DAYS!) getting sick and sleeping. By the time we stopped Monday night in Arkansas, she had a pretty high fever and felt awful. We were really hoping she'd wake up the next morning feeling better...but there wasn't much change. Despite how awful she felt, she was a good traveler. We had our "pit stops" down to a routine by the end of our trip. We finally got home around 8:00pm Tuesday and I really hoped she'd feel better once she could lay down and relax. She was still getting sick and was very lethargic, so I decided to call the nurse help line at the hospital. After asking me several questions, she recommended taking Jenna to the ER. So...we took Jacob to Chris' parents and headed to the ER. They did several blood tests and determined she was dehydrated and had some low levels, so they hooked her up to an IV and admitted her. She ended up staying through today and was released after lunch this afternoon. She was finally able to eat something today (even if it was only jello, toast, and soup!) so she could come home. She seems to be feeling much better and is acting more like herself. She's slowly getting her energy and her appetite back. She was a great patient and was very brave!
So...that's an update on us. Remember to keep checking back for photos. I have lots and lots to share! AND...be sure to leave comments once in a while. It's nice to know there's someone out there reading this.
