Pumpkins!
I got totally lazy this year and did not want to do the whole pumpkin carving thing. I usually end up doing most of the work, including cleaning out the yucky insides of the pumpkin. Instead I had the kids pick out little pumpkins and they painted them. It was a lot less messy...and very little work for me! I do miss the glowing pumpkins on our front step though.

I know what you mean! Those are really cute. This year I bought a plastic one with a light from Target. it glowed, with a lot less mess.
I didn't even go that far. I bought 3 large pumpkins a few weeks ago and they were just setting out for decoration--not decorated/not lit. But the plus side is that they can last until Thanksgiving as decorations now. MOM
Grandpa and Rylee carved Joe the Jack-O'-Lantern, who glows nightly on our porch. Grandpa carved, but Rylee drew the face and did most of the goop scooping. I provided the candle and took photos:)
