New wheels...

Jenna has outgrown her tricycle and has been begging for a bike with "4 wheels". We finally broke down in the nice weather and took her shopping on Sunday to pick out a new bike. Of course she picked out the pink and purple Barbie bike, complete with a backpack, water bottles, and pink and purple streamers on the handles. She's been riding non-stop since we got it. I have a feeling the training wheels won't be on for long!

Tis the season....

The weather has warmed up, which means it is officially grilling season!!! Tonite we had the first official grilled burgers of the season....yummy! And no, I don't always take photos of our dinner cooking. This week's theme for my photo a day challenge is "food", so I decided to seize the opportunity and take a grill photo, complete with flames!!

Be sure to check back in daily this week. I have lots of photos to share!!

Happy Spring

It's officially the first day of spring, and I'm so ready for spring to be here! I'm excited about warmer days, being outside, blue skies, green grass, everything starting to bloom, spring clothes, and even spring cleaning!

This is my new all time favorite photo. I know I say that frequently, but I really, really am loving this photo. I was so excited when I loaded my photos onto my computer and saw this one. I took a bunch of pictures of Jenna swinging...but this one was exactly what I had hoped for.
HAPPY SPRING!!

The End

Basketball season is officially over. The Cougars lost in the Regional semi-finals against Upper Sandusky 79-62. I was disappointed to see them lose after the great season they've had....but at the same time I was glad basketball season is finally over. For the first time since Thanksgiving, we had no basketball games this weekend. It was so nice just to stay home and relax (although Chris and Jacob still watched plenty of basketball on TV). Here are a few photos from Thursday's game.

Jacob and Jenna with our neighbor girls - all decked out in Cougar gear
(Brenda - she has her cheerleading outfit on. Does this count as a photo, or do you need a full body shot??)

Our neighbor, Bret....we'll really miss cheering for him next year!

COUGAR......POWER.......

I just realized that I never gave an update on Van Wert's tournament game. We won Saturday's district final game at Bowling Green against Wapakoneta. It was a really exciting game - especially since we haven't won the district tournament in at least 15 years. The bad news is that Chris and I had to say no to the NYC trip. They all left on Tuesday morning without us. I'll admit that I was a little bummed about missing the trip, but I just couldn't miss the basketball game.

We play in the regional semi-finals tonite in Toledo against Upper Sandusky (who just happens to have a player on their team who is the leading scorer in Ohio). It should be another exciting game. GO COUGARS!

So excited.....

Jenna was so excited to hear that her new cousin had finally arrived. She can't wait to fly to Texas to meet her in three weeks and is crossing off the days on her calendar to keep track. She asked me to print off a photo of Mia so she could take it to day care today to show everyone. When I went to check on her last night before I went to bed, this is what I found.....Jenna sleeping with Baby Mia's photo. I think she's just a little bit excited (and so is Aunt Amy).

She has a name.....

Baby Girl Minatrea has an official name....Mia Isabella Minatrea. I love it!! Jenna insists on calling her "Princess Mia" (from the movie "The Princess Diaries") and wants to know if we can buy baby Mia a tiny crown and the DVD. We may just have to see what we can find. :)

She's here!!!!!

Baby Girl Minatrea is finally here! She was born at 9:39am this morning. She weighed 8 pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. They are still deciding on a name. I talked to Jill an hour after she delivered and she sounded great! Everything went pretty quickly and smoothly.

Brenda went to visit this morning and posted photos on her blog (which I then stole!). It is killing me to be sitting here in Ohio while they are all in Texas. We can't wait to meet her in 3 weeks!!

Good News...Bad News...

Good news....Van Wert won the district semi-final game against Wauseon last night in OT (54-52). It was a fun game to watch. Bad news...now we have to wait and see what happens with Saturday's district finals game until we know if we're going to NYC or not.

Good news....we ate at Myle's Pizza after the game - pizza and garlic bread with cheese - YUMMY! Good news....we have LOTS of leftover pizza and a whole loaf of garlic bread with cheese to eat tonite. Bad news....Jacob woke up at 3:00am sick and I ended up staying home with him today. Good news....I'm hoping to get lots done today, including thoroughly cleaning our house!

Good news...I didn't have to write any sub plans since my student teacher is still teaching in my classroom. Bad news...my student teacher's last day is tomorrow. I'll be sad to see her leave. I've really enjoyed having her in my room and getting to know her better.

Good news...I ordered new jeans from Land's End and they fit perfect. I love that their petite jeans come in 3 different lenghts! Good news...I splurged and ordered new make up from Sephora (Bare Minerals...thanks to Lori's recommendation) and I really, really like it.

Bad news....I missed the girls on American Idol last night. Anyone want to fill me in? Good news...I didn't have to listen to Antonella sing! Bad news...Anotonella and Sanjaya really, really need to go! They are terrible...and what's up with Sanjaya's hair and cheezy smile?

Bad news....my toe still hurts. I'm tired of it hurting.

Good news....I took a fun photo for yesterday's photo a day blog. This week's theme is "Things that make your life easier", so I took a photo of the inside of my dishwasher. It got more comments than any other photo I've posted on there - everyone loved it! I think I may this photo for my business card when my photography business takes off along with the accompanying text. What do you think??

If I can make a dishwasher look this good....
...just think of the photos I can take of your kids!

GO COUGARS!!

It's basketball tournament time...the time of year when our whole schedule depends on whether or not we continue to win tournament games. Van Wert had its first tournament game Friday night against Elida. We ended up winning the sectional finals 57-41, which means we will now playWauseon on Wednesday in the district semi-finals at BGSU (hmmm...a side trip to Myle's Pizza just might have to be worked in!) Jacob and Jenna were excited to get all decked out in their Cougar gear and have me decorate their faces. Our neighbor - Bret - is a senior on the team and is #21. We are some of his biggest fans (although we probably aren't supposed to have favorites since Chris is one of the coaches!) After the game, his mom called him over because she wanted pictures of the kids with him and he was so nice about it. Not too many HS senior boys would willingly have their photo taken after a game. He's a great sport!
