You can't stop the beat.....

After seeing Hairspray on Broadway in NYC last summer, I heard that the movie version was coming out this summer. Well...after waiting for a year for the movie to come out, Jenna and I finally went to see Hairspray tonite! We both give it "two thumbs up" and highly recommend it. We were both singing along (Jenna knew all the songs since I have the soundtrack from the Broadway version) and laughing out loud throughout the movie. As soon as we left the theater, Jenna asked if we could go home and get Jacob and Chris so they could come watch it with us again! All of the stars were perfect in their roles and it was very, very similar to the Broadway version - just a few minor changes. And, if anyone needs a "date" to go with them to see it...Jenna and I would gladly see it again.

Brenda and I are going tomorrow. We have planned on it for a while, and almost had to cancel plans because Marc has to head out of town for a funeral, but we're managing to sneak it in right before he leaves. I love the cast, so way excited to see it!!

If I get Grandma out here before next Fri., I'm hoping that she and I can go see it. Have you seen Dream Girls? Jessica says that there are individual screens at each seat on our long flight, so I'm hoping that's one of the choices. The other passengers are hoping I don't know the songs.

I am seeing it with Jill today but maybe need to go again!!! I saw Dream Girls and did not like it. It was too long and drawn out. I usually love a musical...but not that one. Not impressed.

I really really want to see Hairspray so if we all want to go when you get here I am up for it. I saw Dream Girls. It was okay but I wasn't expecting a musical--don't know why but I guess I didn't catch that it was. But I thought Jennifer Hudson was terrific in her role. MOM

Just got back and loved it! But Brenda and I spent the whole time trying to figure out how we knew Corny Collins. I looked him up when I got home and he's been in tons of things, but sadly the one I know him from is "Sugar and Spice"... you know, the movie where the cheerleaders robbed the bank? High quality movie.
