With the warm weather, I decided I needed to add some "
summer tunes" to my iPod. You know...those songs that just remind you of fun, summer days - lots of sunshine - driving around with the windows down. Of course, when it actually came to creating a summer tunes playlist, my mind went blank. So....I thought I'd ask you (c'mon Lori...don't let me down!). What songs would you recommend adding to my summer tunes playlist???

If I were to make you a road trip mixed CD for the summer, this is what I'd put on it:
"The Heart of the Matter" by India Arie
"The Way I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson
"Woodstock" - Alice Smith (I think that one has a 'bad' word in it, so it's not kid-friendly, FYI)
"Rock Me Gently" (from the Jeep commercial!)
"Cracklin' Rose" by Neil Diamond
"Mercy" by Duffy
"Ready, Set, Don't Go" by Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus
"I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" - Scissor Sisters
"Candyman"- Christina Aguilara (also not so much kid friendly)
"Groove is in the Heart" by Deee Lite
"Mr. Wendal" by Arrested Development
"Wake Up Call" by Maroon 5
"D.A.N.C.E." by Justice
"American Music" by Violent Femmes
And I always slow down the end of my mixed 'tapes'...kind of like a cool down after a work out. So I'd end it with "Song for the Summer" by Small Town Sleeper. This is my friend Troy's band, and you can get their music on iTunes. Buy it. You'll like it. I promise. ("I Have Been Waiting" is also really good.)
and I liked this playlist so much I put it on my own blog. :)
ok, two oldies but goodies i think
