Somehow I forgot to post these photos...thanks to my Dad for reminding me!
Every year the 4th graders do a project called "Living Museum". The students pick a famous person to research and then write a report about that persons life. Then they dress up and give a speech pretending to be that person. Jacob thought a long time about who he would choose, and in the end chose John Wayne. For weeks he shared John Wayne trivia with us as he read books and then wrote his report. He invited Grandpa Davis (the original John Wayne fan...and a big reason why Jacob chose John Wayne as his subject) to come to the Living Museum. Grandpa even shared some of his John Wayne memorabilia with Jacob for his display.

Grandpa must be proud - the legend lives on. Where's Grandpa's western gear, though? I'll be willing to bet Jacob was the first to choose John Wayne.
good pics! I have been waiting to see these. FYI to all cowboy fans: The annual Gene Autry Days in Kenton, OH are June 28 &29. (See website if interested) This year is the Centennial Celebration.

Aunt Barb
that's so cool that grandpa could be there!
I'm back, and this is really in reference to the "reader" blog. Yesterday's USA Weekend had a list of summer reads for kids. Sorry, Jenna, but they started at ages 8-12. Anyhow, I thought Jacob might enjoy "Six Innings" (how do you underline on email?) by James Preller, for ages 9-12. FYI, the other 2 were "The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey" by Trenton Lee Stewart, and "Goosebumps HorrorLand".
Very cool. Did you find boots up there then? Never did find cheap ones here. I wonder if I tried something like that with my kids how it'd go over, because we can have a real problem with parent support in Killeen!
Aunt CC says she hopes to see your project next time we visit. Would be interested to hear what subjects other students chose. Your grandpa Covey and I use to play cowboys with the neighbor kids way back when we were little. I think I was usually one of the bad guys, since I was older and smarter!!!! You go, pardner!!!!
Love,
Aunt Celesta
