Sick, sick joke

Someone got the brilliant idea that it would be fantastic to have a bunch of teachers and administrators attend a mandatory 2 day training - out of town - on the last 2 days of their official summer vacation. What kind of a sick, sick joke is that??? I'm leaving bright and early in the morning for a 2 day training at Pokagon State Park in Indiana. It better be pretty darn entertaining and informative. I just need to keep reminding myself of the stipend money I get at the end of the year for serving on this committee (it's for a district wide grant we just got). Maybe I should take my camera.....I'm sure I could get some oh-so-exciting photos of teacher training in action. :)

I can't feel too bad for you, since we've been back at work 2 weeks already! :) But I know how precious those last few days of freedom are before school starts. Have fun, if possible!

While I, on the other hand, think that's terrible! Maybe b/c we just got back from FL & next week I'm reuniting w/ Niles friends in Canton, then onto G'ma's for some pampering (of her or me?). I like to approach the new school year in the denial mode. I hope it was worthwhile (which would be quite different from most workshops I've attended.) I feel your pain!
